Matthew Nordin, Métis from Terrace BC, is a fourth year BA student majoring in History with a minor in Philosophy. Matthew initially moved to Vancouver to study Film at Capilano University but later became interested in the Liberal Arts and transferred to Langara College, where he began studying History. In 2010 Matthew transferred to UBC where he is entering he has just completed 3rd year.
“I chose Langara for its reputation and great central location. They offer a whole range of courses that are transferrable to UBC and I even had the opportunity to take a number of courses in the field working with community. The faculty was excellent and I received a high quality education that made my transition from Langara to UBC a smooth one.”
“UBC has a great location, beautiful campus, and as a history student, it offers a lot of courses that really piqued my interest. I’ve taken courses in modern Middle Eastern History, Modern China, the Cold War, and the level of teaching is excellent with really interesting faculty.”
I encourage anyone interested in post-secondary to consider the college transfer route and highly recommend Langara and UBC.”
